Q: How do I contact the Dorman Smith Technical Team?
A: If you have a non-urgent technical enquiry then please visit the Contact Us page and complete the contact form with your contact details and your enquiry. If your enquiry is urgent then please feel free to contact our Technical Team on Tel: +44 (0) 1772 325380.
Q: How can I become a Dorman Smith stockist?
A: Please visit the Key Account Manager page under the Contact Us section to find the full contact details for your local Key Account Manager. They will be able to advise the process to follow to become a Dorman Smith stockist.
Q: How can I get a Dorman Smith catalogue?
A: Our catalogues are available as PDF downloads from the Download Section on our website. They can also be viewed from our entry on www.electrika.com as interactive flipbooks. For hard copy catalogues please contact your Local Key Account Manager for further information.
Q: What is the Dorman Smith product warranty?
A: Dorman Smith products are subject to a 12 month warranty from date of invoice. This warranty covers the mechanical and electrical components so long as the products have been installed in accordance with our installation instructions and the installation was undertaken and checked by a fully qualified person.
Q: Where do I find the dimensions for Dorman Smith products?
A: All dimensional information for products is available in our new range of catalogues.
Q: Do you have a minimum order value?
A: Yes. Minimum order value for carriage paid is £300.00 net (excluding VAT). For any orders under £300.00 net then a Minimum Order Value charge of £25.00 is applicable.
Q: What is your standard delivery?
A: For items in stock then our standard delivery is 3 working days from receipt of order to a UK Mainland address. Any items not in stock at the time of placing your order with us will have a lead time advised to you by a member of the Customer Services Team. For any items not due for delivery to a UK Mainland address please contact a member of the Customer Services Team for a freight quotation.
Q: Do you offer a next day timed delivery service?
A: Yes. We offer a variety of next day timed delivery services for orders placed before 12 noon Monday to Thursday and before 11am on a Friday. Please see details of the times and additional charges as below:

Q: Are the Loadmaster LM/LM3P MCBs still available?
A: The Loadmaster and Loadmaster Series 15 MCBs are an obsolete product and our current Loadlimiter 63 K Series MCB cannot be used as a direct replacement. If you have a distribution board with Loadmaster / Loadmaster Series 15 MCBs installed in, then we would recommend replacing the board and devices with a current one from our Loadlimiter 63 Distribution Board range.
Q: Can I use a current Dorman Smith K Series MCB to replace an older version?
A: Our Loadlimiter 63 K Series MCB can be used as a direct replacement for the Loadlimiter XS range, where the product code begins with an “X”. For example an X1PC10 can be replaced with a K1PC10. For older versions of Dorman Smith MCB then please visit the Discontinued Product section for further advice on replacing the device.
Q: What are the Maximum Zs details for the Loadlimiter 63 K Series MCBs?

Q: Can I use a current Dorman Smith KR Series RCBO to replace an older version?
A: Our Loadlimiter 63 KR Series RCBO can be used as a direct replacement for the Loadlimiter XS and Loadlimiter 63 ranges where the product codes begin with “GR” or “XR”. For example a GR1PB1030 can be replaced with a KR1PB1030. For older versions of Dorman Smith RCBO then please visit the Discontinued Product section for further advice on replacing the device.
Q: What type are the Loadlimiter KR Series RCBOs?
A: Our RCBOs are Type AC which means that they are for use with residual sinusoidal ac, whether applied as a step or ramp.
Q: Can I use a current Dorman Smith Loadline MCCB to replace an older version?
A: Our current Loadline MCCB product range cannot always be used as a direct replacement for older versions due to differences in physical size and connection method. If you have an old Loadline MCCB then please contact our Technical Department to discuss the replacement options.
Q: Do your Loadline MCCBs have an adjustable thermal trip?
A: All of our Loadline single-pole thermal magnetic MCCBs have a fixed thermal trip. Our Loadline thermal magnetic 3-pole and 4-pole MCCBs have adjustable thermal overload at 1 x In, 0.8 x In and 0.63 x In. Our Loadline electronic MCCBs have an adjustable thermal overload between 1 x In and 0.4 x In. Please see the product installation instructions on how to change the magnetic trip on the device.
Q: Do your Loadline MCCBs have an adjustable magnetic trip?
A: All of our Loadline YB1 MCCB product range and all single-pole MCCBs have a fixed magnetic trip, however all of our other 3-pole and 4-pole Loadline MCCBs have an adjustable magnetic trip. Please see the product installation instructions on how to change the magnetic trip on the device.
Q: What is the Maximum Zs rating of your Loadline MCCBs?
A: Please see the link to our PDF detailing the Maximum Zs ratings at 0.4 and 5 seconds for all our current Loadline MCCBs. Please contact our Technical Team if you are looking for the Maximum Zs details for an obsolete Loadline MCCB.
Q: Do your Loadswitch fuse combination units come with fuses?
A: Our housed fuse switches from 32A to 125A come with fuses and the fixing kits in order to bolt the fuses to the terminals. Our housed fuse switches from 160A to 800A and all of our skeleton fuse switch range are not supplied with fuses. Please see the Fuse Comparison Chart on Page 8 of our Loadswitch fuses for product code details of fuse options.
Q: Can your Loadswitch fuse combination units be used as an isolator?
A: Yes. We sell solid copper links for all our fuse switch ratings in order to convert these to an isolator. These are sold as single items and you will therefore need to order one solid link per phase. Please see Pages 4 & 6 of our Loadswitch catalogue for the product codes of our solid links per current rating.
Q: How can I book a Dorman Smith Product Training session or CPD?
A: If you would like to book a visit for a Dorman Smith representative to visit your premises and deliver Product Training or one of our accredited CPDs then please contact us with your request and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.
